House Plan Drafting
101 (H.P.D. 101) is staffed by a fully trained
Drafter and Home Designer. My name is Tim Davis and this is what I do for
a living. Through the years, it has been my joy to help many hundreds of
people with quality floor plans for their custom built homes. I also have
a lot of experience providing floor plans for commercial and large residential
buildings, too.
From this web site, I am ready to lead you through a simplified and short, but well-planned course to teach you the dynamics of drawing your own house plans. The easiest way to take these lessons is by using a CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) software program. This course is a great way to get ahead of the rest of the class if you're presently studying architecture. It's also a wonderful resource if you want to draw your own house plans. To the left is a book we highly recommend to give you an even greater understanding of the lessons. |

How the Classes Work Each online course will use the Internet as both our chalkboard and textbook. In the Lesson Plans section (link on left), you'll find a detailed summary of what we'll be learning in each of the house plan courses Everything you need in the way of course material is online. This way, you have round-the-clock access to your lessons, allowing you to work on them anytime! And because there are no time limitations on these courses, you may take as long as you wish to complete each one. Many people are able to complete each course in just a couple of weeks. As soon as we receive your tuition, you will be issued a Username and Password and be given access to our protected directories. Click here now to get started drawing your own house plans. Bonus Floor Plans! In order to enhance your learning experience even more, I have included some actual CAD drawings that you can have access to once you enroll. Many of these are complete house plans and will give you further opportunities to learn from them, alter them - or do whatever you want with them! Drafting Board Options If you would prefer to use a drafting board instead of CAD software, then you are more than welcome to do so - that is how I learned. The only difference is that you will need to mail copies of your drawings to me so that they can be checked and your progress recorded. I will be glad to work with you. If you choose to use a drafting board for this course, here is a list of some things that you will need. This will help you to be prepared for the tasks you will be required to complete. Better yet, if you are into woodworking, click here to download a free Drafting Board Construction Plan. (24" x 36" paper at 1" = 4" scale) *NEW* When you have a question, simply click on the TECH SUPPORT button above and ask whatever question you have - and you do not even need to register! The new section is called "Public Questions". |
